CULLEN L. KRONEMEYER

Residing in Chicago, but raised and educated in West Michigan, Cullen Kronemeyer developed, over the last few years, a strong following and was specially praised at a recent Box Factory for the Arts exhibition. His either small or huge multi-layered abstract paintings consist of thousands of bursting geometric shards painted in muted, polite colors. A blend of organic and geometric abstraction, his work bridges the gap between self-referential modernist work and the tradition of allusive Western art.

Kronemeyer’s renderings are complicated layers of dense lines, with visual references to modern and contemporary architecture as well as alluding to a wide range of subjects.  What you will experience at his exhibitions is undeniably ambitious, meticulously crafted and pleasantly decorative  paintings.
